As you may recall, I recently reviewed two of my all-time favorite travel jackets – both made by SCOTTeVEST. Towards the very end of that post, I found myself daydreaming about the Margaux Cargaux Travel Pants. The amazing people over at SCOTTeVEST agreed to send me a pair of the pants to review on my site. I was super excited to own my third (so far) SCOTTeVEST product and to get my hands on these amazing travel pants!
The Basics
The Margaux Cargaux Travel Pants come in three colors: Black, Olive, and Gray and sizes range from XS-XXL. I am a US size 10 and the large fit me perfectly. Also, if you are a little on the short side (I’m 5’4″), there are adjustable drawstrings that you can use to keep the pants from dragging the floor. They also include an adjustable drawstring at the waist, so that you can tighten/loosen them as needed! The pants are mid-weight, wrinkle-resistant, and machine washable.
The Functionality
These travel pants have 11 freggin pockets; including 2 back pockets, 2 zippered handwarmer pockets, 2 regular handwarmer pockets, 2 cargo pockets, 2 zippered side seam pockets, and a welt pocket. There’s plenty of room to hold your sunglasses, keys, wallet, mobile phone, passport, boarding passes, chapstick – I could go on and on.
They are specifically designed to not look big and bulky when they are loaded up. Now you can you store all of the things without looking and feeling weighed down.
My Review
Yep, I love em! Simple as that. I knew that they were going to become my favorite pair of pants shortly after trying them on. Not only did they fit perfectly, they looked pretty darned good too! I specifically remember the first time my parents saw me wearing the pants, and that they both said they were the absolute best looking pair of pants they’ve seen me wear in a long time.
Over the past month, I’ve fully tested these pants out. I took a 3 week trip to Texas, and these were the only pants I brought with me. They were the perfect pants to wear on my flights to and from Texas, and I was exceedingly happy that I was able to store my airport necessities within easy reach. In addition, I took a road trip and comfortably wore these pants the entire time. Finally, other than the travel days, I wore the pants 2-3x a week and washed them regularly. They still look good-as-new and haven’t lost a bit of color or comfort through all the washings.
I knew that my TX trip would be the prime opportunity to test out these travel pants and they exceeded my expectations! They were the perfect weight for this trip, although they might be a touch too heavy for super hot and humid days (my only criticism). It has been hovering around 75F/24C, however, and I have been perfectly comfortable wearing them out and about.
I could keep going on and on about how much I love my pants, but you really have to find out for yourself. I have a black pair and am hoping to add the olive and gray pairs to my wardrobe!
The Margaux Cargaux Travel pants are only for women, but SCOTTeVEST has 3 options for men: Flex Cargo Pants, Hidden Cargo Pants, and Convertible Travel Pants.
I absolutely love every SCOTTeVEST product I own, especially these travel pants, and hope to add to my collection soon.

These pants were provided to me in exchange for an honest blog review. As always, all opinions are my own.
Thanks, I always find you posts very informative.
You are most welcome!
Lindsay, these pants looks incredibly comfy 😉 I wear shorts most of the time but when I go pants, cargo pants are my fave. Grip me well and they feel more comfortable. Loose fitting yet with enough elasticity to cling. OK enough about my cargo pants obsession LOL. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Ryan
Haha! They are so very comfy – I’ve always loved cargo pants, but they haven’t really had many around for females since the 90s it seems! Super excited to get back in to such a great pair 🙂
What are they made of, and how do they go with washing? Cotton trousers that look good when fresh may take ages to dry and need ironing, whereas easy care polyester never look that great.
Also, what sort of belt do you use? Fill those pockets up with stuff for a long flight and you may be in trouble when they ask you to remove your belt.
Hiya! They are cotton/polyester blend with a bit of spandex in parts – I was able to dry them quickly in a dryer (on low heat). I haven’t tested them out with airy drying, though I will when I head to Europe this autumn.
I found that they did not wrinkle much if at all (I despise ironing)! The pants have a drawstring in the waist, so no belt is needed 🙂
Thanks! Travel time is often far too short to spend time on laundry, but you gotta wear something, right?
Exactly! I’ve been on a couple 2-3 week trips recently where I’ve had to do laundry – but I tend to avoid doing it if I possibly can lol!
Wait – these were the ONLY pants you brought on your trip? That’s incredible! It looks really comfortable – I’d love to give these a try!
I know! Crazy, right?!? I mean, I did have a pair of shorts and a skirt… 😉 Super-duper comfy!
Wow, what a great post. I love that they have hand warmers in the pockets! God knows I could use that when traveling in December. Do you think they would work effectively so you can eliminate wearing thinsulate layers?
Yeah, that inner pocket is so close to the skin that it has protection from the outside and you get a little body heat as well! Personally, I will wear a base layer in temps below 30f/0c. I have a very low tolerance for cold. The pants have enough room to add a base layer without feeling all-squeezed-in-there like I do with some of my other pants!
Ooh great to know, I’m totally gonna have to look into these pants, thanks!!
You are most welcome!
I was just telling my husband I either needed a good pair of traveling pants or a fishermans vest with tons of pockets! These look awesome!! May have to grab myself a pair!
I think if you got a pair of the pants and a vest, you’d have all the pockets you’d ever need 🙂
These pants look great and they would be perfect for my next hike. So glad I came across this post now.
Glad it was helpful 🙂
Woahaa!! That is how one can travel without a bag! The pants and the vest combined, I don’t think I’d ever need more than my camera bag to travel for a weekend.
Very informative. Thank you!
Exactly! They’d make the perfect combo! 🙂
I didn’t know they were making pants too. If they are anywhere near as great as the jackets they make, I am going to have to buy some.
The options for the men’s pants look fantastic! The women’s pants are great, so I expect the men’s pants are awesome too!
Now that you have me thinking about it, literally none of my pants are functional…Like they cover my legs and that is it! ELEVEN pockets and not to mention handwarmer pockets?!? These seem pretty awesome for travel or otherwise
They’re absolutely my go-to pants now! If it wasn’t so hot in FL, I’d probably be wearing them most days!
Thanks for the recommendation. Life is too short for uncomfortable, high maintenance travel pants!
Absolutely! Cargo pants FTW! 🙂
I was on a look out for good, comfortable, hassle free ( unwrinkled), lightweight pants for travel and these fit the bill perfectly. Thanks so much for the recco. The 11 pockets seem absolutely amazing. Especially for someone like me who carries a dozen things ( loses half of them). The best part about these are the adjustable drawstrings. They looks stylish too!
I meant *look stylish 🙂
They’re pretty great pants – I love mine 🙂
I was so happy to find a pair that was just my style and also hassle free! I love em!
They sound like great pants, but who would need 11 pockets. I never carry that much stuff with me, not even in my purse. I guess it would be good to have that many for some people, as long as they were not full going through airport security.
I do find that it does a perfect job of replacing a purse for me! I do carry lots of stuff when I’m out for a full day exploring and it’s nice to have my hands free 🙂 Definitely almost loaded up before going to the airport lol! My mom has their vest and it’s super easy for her to take it off before security.. Dang, now I want one of those too lol! Thanks for reading and commenting 🙂
