During the cold Bulgarian winter, I decided to treat myself to a spa day in Plovdiv. Now, Plovidv isn’t known for its spas, but I really didn’t want to add the extra expense of travel + hotel. After briefly researching spas in Plovdiv, I settled on the Imperial Plovdiv Hotel and Spa.
Thankfully, their website has an English option, so reading up on the spa and the services they offer was quite easy. I sent an email to book my spa day and extra services: Classic Massage and Recovering Therapy with Magnesium. The spa staff responded promptly to clarify my request and to finalize the booking. The whole process was quite easy!
Upon arriving at the Imperial Plovdiv Hotel & Spa, I was excited to find out that I was the only person there! I chose to go on a Thursday afternoon and they had no additional bookings until after I left. The lovely staff gave me a tour of the facilities, assigned me a locker, and told me they would find me when it was time for my massage and body treatment.
The spa itself was small but spotless and very well maintained. I spent a bit of time in the various saunas, the steam room, and jacuzzi before being escorted to the private rooms for my treatments. Though my masseuse didn’t speak much English, we were able to communicate enough and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of care I received.
Looking back on my experience, I would definitely recommend Imperial Plovdiv Hotel & Spa if you are seeking a spa in Plovdiv. Access to the spa is 20 lev during the week and 25 lev on the weekends – there are also multi-visit packages you can purchase to save a few bucks. The body treatments are reasonably priced and I expect all services to be high-quality. I can’t wait to pay Hotel Imperial Spa another visit!
